🎉 EXCITING NEWS! ðŸŽ‰
METHOD Gallery is thrilled to share that we are a recipient of a Community Accelerator Grant funded by Allen Family Philanthropies and awarded by ArtsFund!

This gift will accelerate our organization’s efforts in cultivating immersive experiences that push boundaries and expand our impact as an arts and cultural organization in the Puget Sound.

We're also excited to announce that we have been awarded a 4Culture Public Free Access Grant. This support is a powerful testament to our mission and will allow us to continue providing free and accessible cultural experiences to the King County community.

This grant will directly fund our growing programming, ensuring our doors remain open to everyone. It is a vital step toward removing financial barriers to the arts and fostering a more inclusive and vibrant community.

We want to extend a huge thank you to ArtsFund and 4Culture for believing in our work and investing in free public access to the arts. We also want to express our deepest gratitude to our incredible team of volunteers for their tireless dedication and hard work that makes everything we do possible.

We deeply thank our community members and supporters, and thank you for your continued belief in our mission. Your enthusiasm and support inspire us every day. These grants are a win for all of us, and we can't wait to share our upcoming exhibitions with you.

Artist Talk: Paula Rebsom

Join us this Saturday, September 6th, at 1 PM, for an engaging artist talk with Paula Rebsom. The artist will dive into her exhibition, Precarious Measures, offering insight into her process and philosophy.

Rebsom will discuss how she transforms everyday objects and experiences—specifically the quiet, repetitive acts of domesticity and motherhood—into sculptures that explore themes of fragility, resilience, and balance.

September Artist Activation:

Join METHOD Gallery for a special activation with exhibiting artist Paula Rebsom on Saturday, September 20th, at 12:30 PM.
As part of the Walk Don't Run marathon art walk and Seattle Art + Culture Week, Paula will perform with her work, bringing the exhibition outside the gallery walls and into the streets.

In this interactive performance, "Stop/Motion," Paula Rebsom transforms her static sculptures into a moving, public work. The artist will invite viewers to participate in a choreographed journey, carrying quilts from inside the gallery to the streets. A stop-motion video of the performance will capture this physical act of interaction and social engagement.

The performance kicks off in Pioneer Square and will follow the Walk Don't Run route through downtown, so be sure to catch the beginning of this one-of-a-kind event.

Upcoming in October

METHOD Gallery is proud to announce Taut, a compelling solo exhibition by acclaimed artist William Passmore. Passmore is an enrolled member of the Colville Confederated Tribes (Okanagan and Arrow Lakes Bands). Opening October 2nd, 2025, during the Pioneer Square Art Walk, Taut will feature an extraordinary collection of glass, fabric, and wood sculptures that explore balance, tension, and the enduring threads of cultural identity.

Taut draws deeply from the visual lexicon of Indigenous art, transforming elements like basketry, animal bone, hide, sinew, and rope. Passmore's work reveals how individual materials, each carrying unique weight and meaning, transcend their solitary forms when bound and suspended, especially when combined with the fragile translucence of glass. This suspended space becomes a powerful metaphor for holding onto the past—a tapestry of memories, stories, and fragments contributing to a shifting identity, balancing tradition with contemporary exploration.

Artist Reception & Taco Feed with William Passmore

Join us for a special artist reception and taco feed with exhibiting artist William Passmore this Saturday, October 18th, from 1-3 PM.

As part of the REFRACT Glass Festival, this event is a unique opportunity to engage directly with William Passmore and learn more about his exhibition, Taut. Enjoy a delicious taco as you explore Passmore's striking glass and mixed-media sculptures. This event brings together community, culture, and cuisine, celebrating the traditions and heritage that inspire the artist's groundbreaking work.

METHOD is supported by funding from Seattle Office of Arts & Culture, 4Culture, and ArtsFund.
